itself readily: a new shoot will grow from it's massive root system when
it's harvested, so there is no need to replant. Because it is grass, bamboo

Farmed bamboo stabilizes the earth with its roots, preventing erosion. It
also absorbs greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than an
equivalent stand of trees.
